Aesthetic dentistry, as the name itself says, aims to achieve high smile aesthetics.
One of the most famous treatments is certainly teeth whitening.
At the Esthea office, we whiten teeth with Beyond technology. The Beyond lamp emits blue light and activates the gel previously placed on the teeth. It also filters harmful ultraviolet light and significantly reduces heat through a series of coated optical lenses and optical fibres, which reduces tooth sensitivity and makes this method of whitening more comfortable, safer and more efficient. Office whitening under controlled conditions is the safest and most effective whitening method.
It is also possible to whiten teeth at home using plastic splints into which whitening gel is placed, but this method uses gel with a lower concentration of active ingredients, which is why the results are weaker. Before every whitening, it is necessary to clean the tartar on the teeth, sandblast and polish them so that their surface is clean for whitening.
Aesthetic dental procedures include the Icon treatment. It is a minimally invasive treatment that removes white spots from the tooth surface and repairs initial caries lesions without grinding the tooth tissue.
One of the most sought-after aesthetic solutions for achieving a perfect smile is veneers. There are two types of veneers: composite and ceramic.
Composite veneers are made from highly aesthetic composite materials using the injection technique. In this case, no grinding of the tooth is necessary, but the required amount of composite material is added to the existing tooth. In addition to being minimally invasive, they also have the advantage of a quick manufacturing process. Namely, they can be made in one visit.
Ceramic veneers require minimal tooth grinding to make room for them. Their production takes place through several visits because, as already mentioned, sanding is required, and then impressions are taken and a certain number of trials are needed to achieve the desired result.
The main advantage of ceramic veneers compared to composite veneers is that ceramic veneers are permanent from the first day and will not change their colour over time, while this is not the case with composite veneers. The composite material is prone to the appearance of pigmentation on the edges, which is why such flakes need to be polished more often with regular controls.
Also, ceramic is a much stronger material than composite.
With both types of veneers, it is possible to achieve beautiful smile transformations.
Veneer therapy requires detailed prior planning that includes patient photography, smile design – digital smile design, and taking impressions for analysis.
Based on the impression, the technician makes a wax-up, i.e. the design of future veneers that the doctor can show the patient on his teeth. In this way, the patient participates in the creation of his smile so that we can achieve the desired result together.
